ChildBREATHE is a national multicentre paediatric bronchiectasis research project in Denmark. The project integrates clinical, microbiological and immunological data to improve understanding of disease mechanisms, clinical trajectories and outcomes in children and adolescents with bronchiectasis.
This website is primarily intended for collaborators, researchers and interest organisations, while also including information for patients and families.
Key focus areas include paediatric bronchiectasis in Denmark, disease burden, quality of life, microbiology, immunology, exacerbations, and long-term registry-based research infrastructure.
The project name may also appear as “Child Breathe” in external search contexts.

Project initiation (2025): The ChildBREATHE study has been established as a national multicentre research programme in Denmark.
Publication (2026): A systematic review on inflammatory profiles in paediatric bronchiectasis has been published in European Respiratory Review.
