Who we are
ChildBREATHE is a national research collaboration between paediatric respiratory centres in Denmark.
Participating centres
The project is conducted through close collaboration between three national centres with specialised expertise in paediatric respiratory medicine:
These centres are responsible for the clinical management of children with bronchiectasis in Denmark and provide the basis for inclusion and follow-up within the project.
Interdisciplinary collaboration
ChildBREATHE integrates clinical practice with translational research and registry-based infrastructure. The project involves collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and analytical units across several disciplines, including:
- paediatric respiratory medicine
- microbiology and microbiome research
- immunology and inflammatory research
- epidemiology and registry-based research
This interdisciplinary approach enables comprehensive analyses of disease mechanisms and clinical trajectories in children with bronchiectasis.
Research network
The project is embedded within national and international research collaborations focusing on paediatric lung disease and chronic airway inflammation.
These collaborations support knowledge exchange, methodological development, and opportunities for cross-population comparisons.
